Ripple Prime Launches Delta One Service for US Equity…

What Is Ripple Prime’s New Delta One Service?

Ripple Prime has expanded into U.S. equity derivatives with the launch of a Delta One service for institutional investors, extending its prime brokerage business further into traditional financial markets. The new offering allows hedge funds, asset managers and other financial institutions to execute total return swaps linked to U.S.-listed equities, indexes and digital assets. These contracts give investors exposure to the economic performance of an asset without requiring them to own it directly. The expansion adds equities to a platform that already provides prime brokerage, clearing and financing across foreign exchange, derivatives, fixed income and digital assets. Ripple Prime said clients can manage those exposures through a single counterparty and cross-margin them across supported asset classes around the clock. That structure matters for institutions trading across several markets because collateral held against one exposure can potentially be managed alongside positions elsewhere in the portfolio rather than being divided among separate brokers. The result can be more efficient use of capital, particularly for funds running strategies across traditional securities and digital assets.“The launch of our Delta One business is an important development for Ripple Prime and a natural extension of the platform we’ve built,” Ripple Prime President Noel Kimmel said.

Why Is Ripple Moving Deeper Into Traditional Finance?

Ripple Prime was created after Ripple completed its $1.25 billion acquisition of Hidden Road in October 2025 and rebranded the institutional brokerage business. The deal gave Ripple an established platform spanning both traditional and digital markets rather than requiring it to build a prime brokerage operation from scratch. The Delta One launch pushes that strategy further. Instead of limiting Ripple Prime to crypto-related institutional services, the company is competing for trading and financing activity linked to equities, FX, fixed income and derivatives. That approach also changes the role digital assets play in Ripple’s institutional business. Crypto becomes one part of a multi-asset brokerage relationship rather than a separate service. A hedge fund could potentially manage equity swaps and digital asset exposures with the same counterparty and collateral framework.Ripple Prime said the business has more than $1 billion in regulatory net capital, giving it a sizable capital base as it takes on additional institutional exposures.

Investor Takeaway

Ripple’s expansion into Delta One is less about adding another crypto product than building a prime broker that competes across traditional and digital markets. The test will be whether institutions value the ability to combine those exposures and collateral relationships under one counterparty.

Why Do Total Return Swaps Matter?

Total return swaps are widely used by institutional investors seeking exposure without purchasing the underlying security. One party receives the gains, losses and other economic returns associated with an asset while the counterparty handles the underlying financing arrangement. For hedge funds, that can provide a capital-efficient route to equity or index exposure and can support strategies that would be harder or more expensive to execute through direct ownership. The product also allows prime brokers to compete on financing terms, collateral requirements, execution and balance-sheet capacity rather than simply trading access.Ripple Prime’s ability to offer swaps across equities and digital assets could be particularly relevant to funds operating strategies that cross the boundary between crypto and traditional markets. Those firms have historically had to work with different counterparties for each asset class, creating separate collateral pools and operational processes.Cross-margining can reduce some of that fragmentation. However, institutional clients will still weigh pricing, liquidity, counterparty risk and execution quality against established Wall Street prime brokers with much larger equities franchises.

How Is Ripple Prime Funding Its Expansion?

The Delta One launch follows two financing deals this year that increased Ripple Prime’s capacity to support institutional clients.Earlier in August, the business completed a $275 million private placement of senior unsecured notes. The capital was raised to support continued growth as Ripple Prime expands its U.S. operations. That followed a $200 million debt facility secured in May from funds managed by Neuberger Specialty Finance. The facility was intended to increase lending capacity for new and existing institutional relationships.Together, the financings show that Ripple is putting additional balance-sheet resources behind its push into prime brokerage. That is important because institutional brokerage is capital intensive: clients expect financing, margin capacity and dependable access to liquidity across different market conditions. The next measure of the strategy will be client adoption. Ripple already spent $1.25 billion to acquire the platform behind Ripple Prime and has since added hundreds of millions of dollars in financing. Delta One now gives the business another route to deploy that capital, while putting it into more direct competition with established institutional brokers rather than crypto exchanges alone.
