US-listed cryptocurrency exchange-traded funds returned to net outflows on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, reversing the previous session’s recovery as investors reassessed their exposure to digital assets.According to Farside Investors, spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded preliminary net withdrawals of $150.5 million, while Ethereum products reported $19.7 million in outflows. Solana ETFs lost another $1.3 million. Combined, the three categories registered approximately $171.5 million in reported net redemptions. However, the Bitcoin and Ethereum figures remain incomplete because several issuers, including BlackRock, had not reported their October 14 flows when the data was reviewed. The reversal followed October 13, when Bitcoin ETFs attracted $175.7 million and Ethereum funds received $24.8 million, bringing their combined inflows to $200.5 million.Wednesday’s withdrawals coincided with renewed cryptocurrency market volatility, although ETF flow figures alone cannot establish whether institutional selling caused the price movements.
Fidelity Leads Bitcoin Withdrawals
Fidelity’s Wise Origin Bitcoin Fund (FBTC) accounted for the largest reported Bitcoin ETF outflow on October 14, losing $152.7 million. Bitwise’s Bitcoin ETF (BITB) partially offset the withdrawals with $2.2 million in inflows, while other reporting funds recorded no net movement.BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) and Morgan Stanley’s MSBT remained unreported, leaving the final category total subject to revision. The preliminary $150.5 million withdrawal represents a sharp reversal from Tuesday, when BlackRock’s IBIT attracted $65.9 million and Fidelity’s FBTC received $103.1 million. The latest figures also follow substantial Bitcoin ETF withdrawals earlier in October. Funds lost $484.9 million on October 7 and another $244.1 million on October 8 before briefly returning to positive flows. The uneven pattern suggests institutional demand remains sensitive to market conditions, with subscriptions and redemptions fluctuating considerably between trading sessions. Nevertheless, individual ETF flows reflect investor transactions in fund shares rather than a comprehensive measure of institutional cryptocurrency ownership.
Ethereum and Solana Funds Extend Selling Pressure
Ethereum ETFs recorded preliminary withdrawals of $19.7 million on October 14, reversing the previous day’s $24.8 million inflow.Grayscale’s Ethereum Mini Trust (ETH) experienced $18.8 million in redemptions, while Invesco’s QETH recorded another $900,000 in withdrawals. Several major Ethereum funds, including BlackRock’s ETHA and Fidelity’s FETH, had not yet published their figures. The latest decline follows a period of sustained pressure on Ethereum investment products. On October 12, the category lost $85.4 million, including $75.1 million withdrawn from BlackRock’s ETHA. Solana ETFs also remained negative, recording $1.3 million in withdrawals on October 14.Bitwise’s BSOL accounted for the entire reported decline, while the other tracked Solana funds registered zero net flows. The category previously lost $1 million on October 13 and $700,000 on October 12, extending its recent sequence of redemptions.Across the three asset categories, the October 14 data points to weakening investor demand following Tuesday’s recovery. However, missing issuer reports mean the Bitcoin and Ethereum totals should not yet be treated as final. The completed fund-level figures will determine the full extent of institutional withdrawals and whether Wednesday’s reversal represents a broader deterioration in cryptocurrency ETF demand.
