NEW: Secret Service Chief Counsel Abruptly Resigns

Secret Service Chief Counsel Richard Giuditta abruptly resigned last week after a road rage incident, according to RealClearPolitics.

The road rage incident took place in late July in New Jersey and involved a government vehicle.

“Giuditta, who sources say had no formal training on the use of a government vehicle, inappropriately used lights and sirens on the vehicle, which are supposed to be reserved for law enforcement purposes, the sources allege. The incident involved the Essex County Sheriff’s office, and agents from the Newark Secret Service office were called in to respond, according to these sources. Another civilian driver who was reacting to the alleged “road rage” videotaped the incident, the sources added,” RealClearPolitics reporter Susan Crabtree reported.

Richard Giuditta reportedly returned to his law practice.

“U.S. Secret Service Chief Counsel and Senior Advisor Richard Giuditta has made the decision to leave federal service and return to his law practice,” Guglielmi told RealClearPolitics. “We thank Mr. Giuditta for his contributions to the Secret Service and wish him the very best in his future endeavors.”

Giuditta was reportedly a Trump appointee to through the Department of Homeland Security.
