Massive Explosion After Driver Rams Vehicle Into Veterinarian Office in Wilmington, North Carolina – 3 Firefighters Injured

There was a massive explosion after a driver rammed their vehicle into a veterinarian office’s gas line in Wilmington, North Carolina, on Tuesday.

Video posted to X showed the massive explosion at the Eastern Carolina Veterinary Medical Center on New Centre Drive.

According to WWAY, the driver, who was apprehended after initially fleeing the scene, showed signs of impairment.

Three firefighters suffered injuries and third-degree burns.

No one was inside the building at the time of the explosion.

Three firefighters were injured while responding to a building explosion on New Centre Dr. on Tuesday.

According to officials, a vehicle turned from New Center Dr. onto Bob King Dr. The vehicle hit gas lines and drove off. It caused an explosion at East Carolina Veterinary Medical Center.

Police say that the vehicle and driver were located and the driver had signs of impairment. The driver is now in custody.

After the explosion, three firefighters from the Wilmington Fire Department were injured while fighting the resulting blaze. Two had non-life threating injuries and one firefighter had severe burn injuries on their hands and arms.
