RINO REBELLION: Here Are the Five GOPers Reportedly Holding Up the Trump-Backed DOGE Cuts Package That Would Defund NPR and PBS, Enough to Sink the Legislation

A handful of Republicans are so addicted to wasteful spending that they are incapable of making cuts that would affect a minuscule percentage of the federal budget..

As The Gateway Pundit reported, the House of Representatives last month passed the measure, which seeks to codify $9.4 billion in spending cuts. The Senate has until July 18 to pass the DOGE cuts and send them to President Trump’s desk for a signature.

These cuts would affect various ridiculous government programs, including USAID and the Department of Peace. Moreover, the legislation would defund National Public Radio (NPR) and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (PBS).

Only 51 votes are needed in the Senate, but the RINOs are once again stalling the measure’s passage.

While Alaska Senator Lisa Murkowski’s opposition was already known, four of her other colleagues are demanding changes to the legislation before even considering lending their support.

Townhall.com revealed that while one opponent, Susan Collins of Maine, will come as no surprise to anyone, three supposedly reliable conservatives are joining forces to stymie Trump and the American people. These Senators are Jerry Moran of Kansas, Mike Rounds of South Dakota, and Dan Sullivan of Alaska.

Townhall reported:

The House did its job and passed the rescission package, but it’s currently in jeopardy because the same group of troublemakers in the Senate —Sens. Lisa Murkowski (R-AK) and Susan Collins (R-ME) — are holding up the measure over concerns about cutting programs that are a complete waste of taxpayer money. What’s worse is that they’ve found new allies in Jerry Moran (R-KS), Mike Rounds (R-SD), and Dan Sullivan (R-AK).

These are the cuts Elon Musk wanted codified, at least in part, before he left the Trump administration. He was arguing against the wrong bill, but we digress.

With the Republicans holding 53 seats in the Senate, five is enough to block the legislation.

Politico notes Rounds and Sullivan are currently opposed because they want amendments to safeguard funding for public radio stations for Native American reservations and rural Alaskans, respectively.

Moran is withholding his support because he wants to see what the Senate Parliamentarian, a Democrat hack, will permit in the bill.

Seemingly aware of the situation, Trump weighed in on Truth Social last night and threatened to withhold his support from any Republican who decides to cross him.

“It is very important that all Republicans adhere to my Recissions Bill and, in particular, DEFUND THE CORPORATION FOR PUBLIC BROADCASTING (PBS and NPR), which is worse than CNN & MSDNC put together,” Trump wrote. “Any Republican that votes to allow this monstrosity to continue broadcasting will not have my support or Endorsement.”

“Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

Senator Thom Tillis (RINO-NC) knows all too well what happens when you betray Trump. When he announced his opposition to the”Big, Beautiful Bill” last month, the backlash from the president and MAGA was so severe that he was forced to forgo re-election next year, ending his political career.

These five senators would be wise to learn from that episode and get on board.
