JUST IN: Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs Denied Bail, Will Remain in Prison Awaiting Sentencing – Judge Says Violent Rapper Can’t Demonstrate That He Is Not ‘A Danger to the Community’

Diddy will remain in prison as he awaits sentencing, after being acquitted of the most damning charges of sex-trafficking and racketeering but convicted of lesser charges of ‘Transportation for Prostitution’.

Judge Arun Subramanian has denied bail for Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs after he was cleared of the most serious charges of ‘sex trafficking’ and ‘racketeering’, but found guilty of two counts of ‘Transportation for Prostitution’.

Now, the rapper will have to await sentencing in prison as he has been since he was arrested in September 2024.

Judge Subramanian said that the defendant had to show that ‘he is not a danger to the community’, but the court found that ‘he could not meet that burden’.

Prior to trial, he was denied bail, and the Judge said that he sees no reason to reverse that, reminding that the defense openly conceded the defendant’s violence.

The Judge set the sentencing for October 3, but says he is willing to expedite it.

Diddy’s team had requested bail four times before the trial, between September and November 2024 – all denied by Subramanian, citing compelling evidence of Combs’ ‘propensity for violence’ and ‘risk of obstruction’.

Earlier in the day, as soon as the jury foreman read the verdict for the high-profile trial of rap mogul Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, among a celebration by his team, head lawyer Marc Agnifilo asked for Diddy to be released on a $1 million bail pending sentencing.

“Combs’ Agnifilo: He should be released. He is no longer charged with sex trafficking or racketeering. His plane has been chartered – it is in Maui. He does not have access to his plane. This is his first conviction, and it is a prostitution offense. He should be released. His family is here and could sign a bond. He should be released today, to go back and live at Two Star Island.”

Update: Sean Combs’ lawyers’ 6 page letter asking for release today on bail has just been docketed it – Inner City Press story on it coming; US Attorney’s Office letter is not in the docket as of 1:33 pm…

The prosecution opposed granting Diddy bail. AUSA Maureen Comey argued that ‘a person found guilty shall be detained until the judicial officer finds he is not likely to flee or be a danger [to the society]’.

Comey also argued that the sentencing guidelines call for a four-to-five-year sentence.

She added that even while faced with this case, ‘he assaulted ´Jane´’, and while preparing to surrender, he still had drugs in his hotel room.

Update: US submits letter docusigned by Deonte Nash, release = “message that wealth and influence can shield someone indefinitely from accountability. It will also endanger those who cooperated under subpoena, who are already living in fear of retaliation. https://t.co/HJPH1X7I8H pic.twitter.com/fN02RYwdcE

Doug Wignor, Cassie Ventura’s lawyer, has also sent a letter to the court opposing bail, as they believe that Diddy is ‘likely to pose a danger’ to Cassie and the other witnesses, ‘as well as to the community’.
