WATCH: Ted Cruz Causes Cory Booker to Snap with a Simple Question During Hearing on Federal Judges – Then Cruz Finishes Him with a Blunt Reply

An explosive exchange erupted on the Senate floor Tuesday afternoon, which ended with arguably the body’s biggest narcissist getting humiliated by perhaps the smartest one after one simple question and an epic reply.

As Fox News reported, Senators Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Cory Booker (D-NJ) went at it during a Senate Judiciary Subcommittee hearing titled “The Supposedly Least Dangerous Branch: District Judges v. Trump. Cruz, the committee’s subchair, used his time to aptly point out how Democrats on the committee kept silent when threats against federal judges were made during the Biden regime, especially when conservative Justices such as Samuel Alito and Clarence Thomas were targeted.

Cruz also slammed Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) for “unleashing” protesters to harass Supreme Court Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh before they ruled in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. This decision overturned Roe v. Wade.

For those who need a reminder, here is what Schumer said.

“I want to tell you, Gorsuch. I want to tell you, Kavanaugh. You have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price. You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.”

Booker quickly took issue with this simple truth and tried to gaslight Cruz in response.

“Will you indulge me for a moment? It’s just that something you said is actually dangerous and should be addressed,” Booker replied. “This implication that there was silence (from us) at a time there were threats on people’s houses is absolutely absurd.”

“I remember the rhetoric and the comments, the concern from (Senator Chris Coons (D-DE)),” Booker added. “I actually distinctly remember you, chairman, more than once condemning those attacks on, on, on Republican-appointed jurists.”

“To say things like that feeds just the partisanship in this institution, and feeds the fiery rhetoric. And it’s just plain not true. And I think you know that.”

“Facts are stubborn things,” Cruz fired back before citing U.S.C. Section 1507 to point out that it’s a crime to protest at a judge’s home. The reason for this, as Cruz noted, is because such a move could influence their decision and obstruct justice.

“Night after night, angry mobs were outside the Supreme Court Justices’ homes, and the Biden Justice Department prosecuted nobody,” Cruz added. “I would challenge my friend (Booker) to find a single Democrat Senator on this committee holding (then-Attorney General Merrick Garland) to account for not enforcing this law.

“I really appreciate that you’ve now shifted the accusation you made earlier. Your accusation was that we were silent in the face of protests at Supreme Court justices’ homes,” Booker retorted. “Again, we joined together in a bipartisan way, not only to condemn that, but to pass legislation to extend round-the-clock security protection, literally days after it was introduced, May 5th, passed the Senate in a bipartisan fashion on May 9th.”

“So if you’re saying that we didn’t criticize Merrick Garland…”

“Did the Biden DOJ go out and arrest a single person under this law?” Cruz interjected.

Upon hearing this, Booker tried to spin his way out, but Cruz wouldn’t let him. He asked the same question, this time providing an answer.

“Did the Biden DOJ arrest even one?” Cruz asked. “Again, the answer is no.”

This simple question drove Booker completely off the wall.

“I did not interrupt you, sir. I would appreciate it if you let me finish!” Booker roared while Cruz laughed at him. “I am sick and tired of hearing the kind of heated partisan rhetoric, which is one of the reasons why we have such divisions in this country!”

“The attacks we see from the President of the United States of America, trolling and dragging judges through, is what we should be talking about that puts people in danger,” he continued. “I’m simply taking issue with the claim that you made at the top, that people on the Democratic side of the aisle do not care about the safety and the security of judges, and said nothing.

You said we were silent after people’s houses were protested. That is a patent lie, sir. We were not silent. We took action.

Cruz quickly noticed that throughout Booker’s tirade, he completely failed to answer the Texas Senator’s question but decided to give him one more chance.

When Booker refused again, Cruz drove in the dagger with a savage reply, which included a reference to Booker’s infamous nickname.

“So let the record reflect that Spartacus did not answer the question, and did not tell us whether the criminal law should be enforced, because he knows the answer is yes,” Cruz stated. “And he knows that the Biden Department of Justice was being wildly political and partisan in refusing to enforce the law because they disagreed with the Supreme Court Justices’ rulings.”
