WINNING: Trump Cuts USDA Bird Flu Gain-of-Function Research Partnership with China

The Trump Administration has terminated a controversial $1 million maximum-pain bird flu gain-of-function research project conducted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) in collaboration with a Chinese Communist Party (CCP)-linked laboratory tied to the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

The decision follows a year-long campaign and investigations by the White Coat Waste Project (WCW), a watchdog group focused on exposing wasteful and dangerous taxpayer-funded animal experiments.

“Following a WCW investigation and campaign, President Trump’s Agriculture Secretary, Brooke Rollins, has informed Congress that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is ending its dangerous collaboration with China on maximum pain bird flu gain-of-function experiments,” White Coat Waste wrote in an announcement.

The organization explained, “Records obtained by WCW through the Freedom of Information Act proved that animals—some just one day old—were subjected to painful, ‘severe’ experiments without any pain relief, resulting in death and suffering.”

Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins confirmed the project cut during a recent USDA budget hearing in response to a question from Republican Rep. Ben Cline.

The project involved creating bird flu viruses and seeing if they could jump to mammals.

President and founder of White Coat Waste, Anthony Bellotti, told The Gateway Pundit:

White Coat Waste—the watchdog that first uncovered and prompted President Trump to end Fauci’s funding for gain-of-function animal experiments at the Wuhan lab—applauds President Trump and Secretary Brooke Rollins for cutting the Biden USDA’s reckless $1 million bird flu gain-of-function collaboration with CCP-linked and Wuhan-tied experimenters.

Despite what we exposed in Wuhan, White Coat Waste investigators also first unearthed how that the Biden Administration fought to continue bankrolling gain-of-function in China, funded a five-year program starting in 2021 to supercharge bird flu viruses in treacherous maximum pain animal experiments with Communist China, and then lied about it to Congress.

Taxpayers shouldn’t be forced to pay for the creation of pandemic-causing pathogens, and now, following a White Coat Waste campaign, they won’t have to.

This is great news for taxpayers and pet owners in both parties and it sends a message to big spending animal abusers across the federal government: Stop the money. Stop the madness!”

Congressman Cline added, “It is outrageous that U.S. taxpayer dollars were ever used by the Biden USDA to fund joint experiments with the Chinese Communist Party, especially research that could be catastrophic if mishandled or weaponized. We should never be partnering on high-risk viral research with a hostile regime that has a proven track record of deception and biothreat escalation. Secretary Rollins and the Trump Administration are right to end the USDA’s collaboration with the CCP and put American safety ahead of misguided scientific partnerships with hostile foreign powers.”

Earlier this month, the Department of Defense confirmed the cancellation of a $10 million contract to shove marbles up the anuses of cats and electroshock them, after Laura Loomer and White Coat Waste exposed the cruel experiments.

FDA’s Move to Phase Out Animal Testing Hailed as Victory for White Coat Waste Project

In April, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announced plans to phase out animal testing requirements, starting with monoclonal antibodies and expanding to other drugs after a long pressure campaign from WCW. The Trump administration’s Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has also pledged to eliminate animal testing, reinstating a plan originally introduced during President Trump’s first term and squashed by Joe Biden.

Additionally, Secretary of Veterans Affairs Doug Collins confirmed the department will end at least some of its primate testing before the 2026 deadline set by Congress. Since 2016, WCW had worked to expose how the VA was giving puppies heart attacks, injecting monkeys with angel dust, crippling kittens, drilling into cat’s skulls, and much more.
