Seven “Living Affidavits,” from the city of Detroit, including Ramon Jackson, appeared before the Michigan House Election Integrity Committee on Monday to testify about what they believe is the root cause of their city’s decades-long devastation.

Michigan Representative Rachelle Smit, a longtime former clerk and chair of the MI House Election Integrity Committee, invited Detroit Activist Ramon Jackson to appear with Pastor Lorenzo Sewell of the 180 Church in Detroit, to appear with six additional witnesses who have signed affidavits attesting to what they argue are serious crimes against them and their community.

Pastor Lorenzo began the hearing with an impassioned plea for help from the Michigan House Election Integrity Committee. Chair Rachelle Smit followed his fiery pronouncement of rampant voter fraud in Detroit and other black-majority cities across America by asking the man who uncovered the crimes, “The Advocate,” Ramon Jackson, to speak next.
For most of his life, Ramon Jackson, also known as “The Advocate,” has lived in Detroit. For years, he has been fighting for strong leadership in Detroit. On several occasions, after working hard to push for honest candidates to replace self-serving elected leaders in Detroit, Mr. Jackson found himself frustrated to discover that his candidates, despite their popularity, were repeatedly losing elections.
Mr. Jackson moved to Ohio for a short period of time. After moving out of state, Mr. Jackson did what most people do when they move to a new location: he obtained a new Ohio driver’s license. Shortly after he obtained his new Ohio driver’s license, he discovered that he had been registered to vote at his previous Detroit address. Mr. Jackson knew he hadn’t registered himself to vote at his previous address, and that someone or some entity with bad intentions must have registered him to vote there, so he decided to take a closer look. Ramon Jackson was shocked by what he discovered after he requested and obtained a copy of Detroit’s QVF (Qualified Voting Files). In addition to finding names he didn’t recognize registered to vote at homes where he knew the homeowners, he also found names of several individuals he had known for years who bragged about never voting, yet, here they were, not only registered to vote after they moved out of the city, but some were actually VOTING in multiple elections!
In his testimony, Mr. Jackson discussed a pattern he’s discovered of “low or no-propensity voters” who “frequently move around” that are being registered to vote by someone other than themselves. In addition, once they are registered to vote, their names are being used to cast votes. Ramon claims whoever is registering these individuals is preying on those who have “unstable” living situations, or are moving frequently around the city of Detroit. These newly created voters can either be found moving from one residence to another within the city of Detroit, moving out of the city of Detroit to another location in Michigan, or out of state.
It wasn’t long before Mr. Jackson started to understand that this potentially large-scale scheme in the city of Detroit to steal votes could be the difference between Detroit citizens “electing” their choice of candidates for local, state, and federal positions, or candidates being “selected” for them. If Mr. Jackson hadn’t uncovered this scheme, it could have gone on for decades, while unsuspecting individuals who move away from their homes would have no reason to check the voter rolls to see if they’ve been registered to vote at their previous addresses after they move.
Mr. Jackson says he’s been told by the MI Secretary of State’s office that the process of registering individuals at their previous address or random addresses across the city of Detroit is taking place at the Secretary of State’s office during the driver’s license transaction.
