President Donald Trump’s approval rating remains stronger than ever.

According to the latest CBS News poll, Trump’s approval rating remains at 50 percent, higher than he ever recorded during his first term in office.

There is genuine among sections of the public about the recent Signal group chat mishap, where National Security Adviser Mike Waltz mistakenly included Atlantic editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg in an encrypted discussion about military action against the Houthi rebels in Yemen.

However, Trump’s approval rating remains seemingly unaffected, despite the borderline hysterical media coverage about the issue.

“The matter involving administration officials’ use of the Signal app, while seen as serious, does not seem tied to evaluations of Mr. Trump overall,” CBS notes.

Public sentiment on his handling of the economy is mixed.

When asked about efforts to combat rising consumer prices, 31 percent of Americans said the Trump administration is doing the “right amount,” while 64 percent believe it’s “not enough.”

Opinions on tariffs against Canada, Mexico and China were similarly split; 38 percent said the administration has imposed the “right amount,” whereas 55 percent believe it has gone “too far.” Just five percent of respondents expressed a desire for additional tariffs.

A total of 48 percent of respondents said they approve of how President Trump is managing the economy at present.

His numbers are even stronger on immigration, where a majority (53 percent) said they approve of his handling of the issue, while 58 percent support his efforts to deport illegal immigrants.

Views on the administration’s push to reduce the size of federal agencies, including through the efforts of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) led by bilionaire Elon Musk, are evenly divided.

The poll, which was published on Sunday morning, surveyed over 2,600 Americans from around the country on March 27 and 28.

Last month, a separate poll found that Trump’s approval rating among black men reached a record 42 percent, underlying his ability to reach out to demographics typically opposed to the Republican Party platform.
