MIGRATION NIGHTMARE: Poland Introduces New Law Temporarily Suspending Illegals’ Right To Seek Asylum

A NATO and EU country currently under the rule of a uber-Globalist Liberal politician, Poland has taken apparently tough measures to tackle the scourge of unchecked mass migration that is threatening it.

Legislation signed into law by President Andrzej Duda temporarily suspends the right of illegal migrants arriving in Poland to apply for asylum.

The bill allows Polish authorities to suspend this right for up to 60 days at a time.

BBC reported:

“[Prime Minister Donald] Tusk had said it would be adopted ‘without a moment’s delay’ while Duda said the changes were needed to strengthen security on the country’s borders.

But the law has been criticized by rights groups including Human Rights Watch, which said the EU should take legal action against Poland if it was implemented.

The group urged the country’s parliament last month to reject the bill, saying it ‘flies in the face of Poland’s international and EU obligations’ and could ‘effectively completely seal off the Poland-Belarus border, where Polish authorities already engage in unlawful and abusive pushbacks’.”

The UN @Refugees agency has warned Poland that its planned toughening of migration and asylum rules does “not comply with international and European law”.

The suspension is allegedly only going to be applied temporarily, against people who ‘pose a threat to state security’, such as ‘large groups of aggressive migrants trying to storm the border’.

“Exemptions will be made for unaccompanied minors, pregnant women, the elderly or unwell, anyone exposed to “real risk of serious harm” by being returned and citizens of countries accused of conducting the instrumentalization of migration – like Belarus”

Now that the bill is signed into law, conservative President Andrzej Duda took the opportunity to inquire whether Prime Minister Donald Tusk’s government genuinely wants to clamp down on illegal immigration.

The president has signed into law new rules removing criminal liability from officers who use firearms while serving on the border.

The measures were passed in response to a surge in aggression from some migrants seeking to cross the border from Belarus https://t.co/sBMaoYhoCw

Notes from Poland reported:

“However, at the same time, [Duda] addressed a letter to prime minister in which he noted that, at the start of the migration crisis in 2021, when Tusk was in opposition, he and his allies were often critical of the tough measures that the then-PiS government took in response.

‘It is good that [you] have changed your position’, wrote Duda, but he added that it was vital that the government ensures ‘political declarations are followed by real and consistent actions’.”

The conservative opposition party PiS argues that Tusk is making moves purely for political reasons, to pander to the immigration-averse population ahead of May’s presidential elections, and that in practice he will not follow through.
