Chuck Schumer
If you feel like your morning is going poorly, take comfort in the fact that Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY) is almost certainly going worse.
As The Gateway Pundit’s Kristinn Taylor reported, Schumer announced in a Senate floor speech Thursday evening that he would not filibuster and will vote for cloture on the Republican continuing resolution to keep the federal government open and funded through the end of the current fiscal year, September 30, giving President Donald Trump a key early victory.
Schumer said, “While the CR bill is very bad…Allowing Donald Trump to take even more power via a government shutdown is a far worse option.” Schumer also said a shutdown would be like giving Trump, DOGE chief Elon Musk and OMB Director Russ Vought, “The keys to the city, state and country.”
President Trump could not resist poking at his long-time rival this morning with a hilarious troll ‘congratulating’ him for his “really good and smart move.”
This is sure to send the left over the edge.
“Congratulations to Chuck Schumer for doing the right thing — Took “guts” and courage!” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “The big Tax Cuts, L.A. fire fix, Debt Ceiling Bill, and so much more, is coming. We should all work together on that very dangerous situation.”
“A non pass would be a Country destroyer, approval will lead us to new heights. Again, really good and smart move by Senator Schumer,” Trump added. “This could lead to something big for the USA, a whole new direction and beginning!”
Even better for Republicans, CNN reports that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (Socialist-NY) plans to mobilize her gullible followers to oppose the House GOP funding bill that Schumer caved on.
“I think there is a deep sense of outrage and betrayal,” an angry AOC whined to reporters. She also stated that she and her fellow Democrats are “texting, calling, and sending carrier pigeons.”
CNN also notes that even ‘centrist’ House Democrats are urging AOC to challenge him and have vowed to fund her campaign.
When CNN asked about the promised backing from her fellow Democrats, AOC notably refused to rule out challenging Schumer.
Asked by CNN about fellow Democrats encouraging her to challenge Schumer, Ocasio-Cortez did not rule it out and said only that she was focused on keeping Dems from backing the funding bill: “We still have an opportunity to correct course here, and that is my number one priority.”

Should an AOC-Schumer primary fight happen, there will not be enough popcorn for the entire world. And it just became far more likely after last night.
