President Trump Reveals He Left Explicit Instructions for His Advisers in Event of Assassination by Iran

President Donald Trump made it crystal clear on Tuesday that Iran—or any of its terrorist proxies—would face total annihilation if they dared to assassinate him.

During an exchange with a reporter, Trump revealed that he has already left explicit orders for his advisers: If Iran or its operatives take him out, the United States would respond with total and immediate destruction.

Reporter: “If it’s Iran and their proxies who threaten to retaliate against you and your team by killing you guys for taking out Soleimani?”

Trump: “Well, they haven’t done that. That would be a terrible thing for them to do, not because of me. If they did that, they would be obliterated. That would be the end. I’ve left instructions. If they do it, they get obliterated. There won’t be anything left, and they shouldn’t be able to do it.

Biden should have said that, but he never did. I don’t know why. Lack of intelligence, perhaps. But he never said it. If that happens to a leader, or close to a leader, frankly, if you had other people involved, also, you would call for total obliteration of a state that did it. That would include Iran.”

This isn’t the first time Trump has issued a chilling warning to Tehran. Last year, the former president explicitly called for Iran to be annihilated if it ever carried out an assassination against him.

Trump made his wish for ferocious retaliation clear in a Truth Social post, where he shared a clip of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu discussing Iran’s assassination threats during his address to Congress.

“If they do ‘assassinate President Trump,’ which is always a possibility, I hope that America obliterates Iran, wipes it off the face of the Earth,” Trump wrote.

“If that does not happen, American Leaders will be considered ‘gutless’ cowards!” he added.

In August, a federal complaint unsealed on Tuesday in Brooklyn has charged Asif Merchant, also known as “Asif Raza Merchant,” a 46-year-old Pakistani national, with murder-for-hire in connection with a foiled assassination plot targeting a politician or U.S. government officials on American soil.

The plot was allegedly thwarted by law enforcement before any attack could be executed. Merchant is currently in federal custody in New York, according to the press release.

FBI investigators believe that the intended targets of the plot included Trump and other current and former U.S. government officials, according to a U.S. official briefed on the matter, per CNN.

According to court documents, Merchant orchestrated a plot to assassinate a politician or U.S. government officials on U.S. soil. In approximately April 2024, after spending time in Iran, Merchant arrived in the United States from Pakistan and contacted a person he believed could assist him with the scheme. This individual reported Merchant’s intentions to law enforcement and became a confidential source (CS).

In mid-June, Merchant met with individuals he believed were hitmen but were actually undercover FBI agents (UCs). During these meetings, he sought their services for theft and assassination and indicated that he would provide instructions on whom to kill after leaving the U.S.

In November, Biden’s Department of Justice (DOJ) said they uncovered and stopped an Iranian-linked scheme to kill Donald Trump before he was re-elected president.

The DOJ charged Iranian national Farhad Shakeri, along with Carlisle Rivera and Jonathan Loadholt, with murder-for-hire. Rivera and Loadhold have been arrested, while Shakeri remains at large.

The DOJ believes Shakeri, an alleged asset of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), is in Tehran, potentially under the protection of the Iranian regime.

Iranian officials in September allegedly demanded Shakeri surveil and ultimately assassinate Trump ONE MONTH before the presidential election.
