WATCH: House Ethics Committee Chairman Michael Guest Refuses to Answer TGP’s Questions on Gaetz Report, Democrat Ethics Committee Leaker – Won’t Even Say What Ethics Means

House Ethics Committee Chairman Michael Guest Refuses to Answer The Gateway Pundit’s Questions

The Gateway Pundit confronted House Ethics Committee Chairman Michael Guest (R-MS) Wednesday after news broke that the Committee plans to release the findings from their politicized investigation into former Florida GOP Congressman Matt Gaetz.

As The Gateway Pundit reported earlier, the House Ethics panel secretly voted to release its lawfare report of Matt Gaetz before the end of this Congress. The Republicans hold a majority on the Committee, suggesting that RINOs on the Committee voted with Democrats to smear Gaetz with allegations that were already debunked by Biden’s DOJ. Guest refused to say whether or not he voted for the release on Wednesday.

BREAKING: House Ethics Committee Secretly Votes to Release ‘Damaging’ Lawfare Report of Matt Gaetz Before End of Congress – Gaetz Responds

This comes after the Committee voted not to release the report, and the House of Representatives voted to block resolutions by Democrats to force the House Ethics Committee from releasing their report on Gaetz.

But, House Democrats have been still trying to force the House Ethics Committee to release their lawfare report despite the Committee no longer having jurisdiction over Gaetz. The Deep State and Committee Democrats have been selectively leaking parts of the report to the media, and a so-called “hacker” also obtained a trove of documents from the report. Pennsylvania Rep. Susan Wild, the top Democrat on the House Ethics Committee, was recently outed as the leaker of the Matt Gaetz report.

Not only are they harassing Gaetz, but Wild violated the oath she took before the Committee that “I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will not disclose, to any person or entity outside the Committee on Ethics, any information received in the course of my service with the Committee, except as authorized by the Committee or in accordance with its rules.” House Republicans are reportedly weighing a censure against Wild

Rep. Scott Perry (R-FL) weighed in on the brewing effort in an X post, noting that “House Ethics discussions are confidential and House Ethics has no jurisdiction over individuals not serving in Congress. There must be consequences for ‘leaking.’”

“How can anyone have any faith in the House Ethics Committee when one of its own Members are engaged in unethical practices[?]” he continued.

While I am not leading this effort, I am being asked my view on a censure of Rep. Wild. House Ethics discussions are confidential and House Ethics has no jurisdiction over individuals not serving in Congress. There must be consequences for “leaking.”

How can anyone have any…

It should be noted that the Ethics Committee revived the junk allegations against Gaetz, even after the Biden DOJ exonerated Gaetz of criminal wrongdoing and dropped the charges in February 2023.

The investigation was reopened in 2023 as Gaetz ramped up challenges to former House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, who was later ousted by Gaetz’s Motion to Vacate the chair. Later, when Gaetz threatened to bring a Motion to Vacate against McCarthy in October 2023, McCarthy’s RINO allies began threatening to expel Gaetz based on the Committee’s investigation.

Gaetz has denied all allegations of wrongdoing.

Last month, Gaetz withdrew his name from being considered for AG due to the unfair distraction from President Trump’s next term caused by the Deep State and RINOs. Gaetz has since announced that he’s joining One America News Network’s primetime lineup, hosting “The Matt Gaetz Show” every weeknight for his next chapter after leaving Congress last month, The Gateway Pundit reported.

Wild, the Democrat leaker on the Committee, appears to have already fled Washington, DC, after losing her reelection bid last month. On Wednesday, the Gateway Pundit correspondent Jordan Conradson confronted Rep. Michael Guest.

Watch below:

Conradson: Why did the ethics committee vote in secret to release the Matt Gaetz report?

Guest: As you know, I’m bound by confidentiality. I can’t talk about anything that happened within the confines of ethics. I can neither confirm nor deny anything.

Conradson: What about Susan Wild? She’s leaking details. Is that acceptable?

Guest: Again, I can’t talk about anything as it relates to the Ethics Committee.

Conradson: In your opinion, what is ethics? What does ethics mean? Is it ethical to target political opponents?

In another encounter, roughly 30 minutes later, Guest repeated the same line, again refusing to answer any questions– even those unrelated to the Ethics Committee’s investigation and proceedings.

Despite touting his adherence to the Committee’s “oath of confidentiality,” Guest was silent when asked if he’d hold Susie Wild accountable for violating her oath.

Watch:

Conradson: You mentioned the oath. Would you support a censure against Susie Wild for violating her oath?

Guest: Again, I’m not going to comment on anything ethics-related–

Conradson: You never answered my question about what does ethics mean to you. I’m not asking for privileged information. Chairman, is it ethical to investigate a member of Congress who’s already been cleared by the DOJ.

Guest: Again, I can’t comment about anything that happened with the ethics investigation.

Conradson: In your opinion on ethics, is it ethical to continue to harass a former member of Congress after they’ve left your jurisdiction?

Guest: I can’t comment about anything as it relates to the Ethics Committee.
