Reporters for a variety of national outlets are camped out on a quiet dead-end street in north Lansing, Michigan trying to get details of the MSU shooter, reportedly 43-year-old Anthony McRae. McRae killed himself after killing three yesterday at Michigan State University in East Lansing, and seriously injuring five others who are recovering.
McRae lived with his father Michael McRae in a small house on Owens Ave. Michael is a church-going man widowed within the past two years.
Oddly, MSU Shooter Anthony McRae had previously lived in Bear, Delaware, 2.2 miles away from one of the men accused and convicted of ‘kidnapping’ Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Barry Croft. Bear, Delaware is a small rural town in the state with 19,000 residents.

From social media, the shooter son was obsessed with exorcisms and his social media profile was filled with such images and imagery. His Facebook account has since been deleted. The shooter worked at a Meijer grocery store warehouse.

Shooter McRae was also a convicted felon from 2019, having been found with a loaded gun in his vehicle, which could have been a sentence of up to five years in state prison. McRae was allowed to plea down to a misdemeanor and serve only probation.

College campuses are ‘gun free zones’ where no one is allowed to carry a weapon, including Michigan State.
Neighbor Megan Bender told the Detroit News that gunshots could be heard coming from the McRae property, where neighbors would call the local police and report the sounds. A Michigan outlet quoted neighbors as saying he was shooting into the backyard to ‘quiet the dogs.’ Discharging firearms within city limits is a crime, “Reckless Use of a Firearm,” in Michigan but there is no indication that either father or son were ever charged for that crime.
SHOOTER HAD KNOWN MENTAL ILLNESS ISSUES AND AUTHORITIES WERE AWARE OF ILLEGAL GUN POSSESSION
A ‘welfare check’ was called on shooter Anthony McRae last week but no details are being provided by authorities because of the ongoing investigation.
McRae was allegedly on foot for the killing spree, walking around campus and even stalking several buildings and dorm rooms.
Multiple neighbors said they knew the shooter’s father, but had never seen or met the son accused of killing students.
Reports originally erroneously reported that there were multiple shooters, and response efforts were frustrated by a significant number of false reports of shootings in other buildings. Social media was alight with various false claims identifying people who were not the shooter, and one image widely circulated that there were three shooters walking around with long guns that looked like rifles.

Neighbors told the Gateway Pundit that Michael was being currently interrogated by police. Neighbors related that the father was well-known as a nice and peaceful person in the community noted for picking up unwanted appliances and bringing them back to repair them at his home. Michael is a retired General Motors worker. The father told the Washington Post that his son kept lying about having an illegal gun in the home even though he saw bullet casings on the property.
Neighbor Kari Fox told reporters that Michael is “the sweetest man” who is very religious and was very affected by the death of his wife ,and the shooter’s mother, Linda two years ago in 2020. The NY Post is reporting that McRae ‘turned evil’ after his mother’s death.
The body of alleged shooter Anthony McRae was found pursuant to phone tips in an undisclosed ‘industrial area’ about five miles from the MSU campus in Lansing, Michigan around 11:35pm.
