The House reconvened on Friday as the speaker election continued after McCarthy lost 11 ballots in a row.

Fox News reporter Chad Pergram is reporting that the ‘drama’ over the fight for House Speaker may end today.

McCarthy has taken a political beating this week.

20 Republican lawmakers are refusing to vote for McCarthy.

McCarthy remained defiant on Thursday evening and defended concessions he’s made.

Rep. McCarthy has been huddling with the GOP detractors and has apparently caved to all of their demands.

GOP Rep. Ralph Norman expects a written agreement to end the standoff.

Kevin McCarthy told reporters he’s “not putting any timeline” on getting to 218 votes as some lawmakers call for him to resign his bid.
